Botox
What is Botox?
BOTOX® is the commercial tradename for Botulinum Toxin Type A.Botulinum Toxin is derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. When injected into muscles, Botulinum Toxin has a local effect. It blocks transmission between the nerve endings and muscle fibres around the injection site to cause weakness of the nearby muscle.
What is Botox used for?
Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. It is typically used in people aged 18 to 65. Botox works by blocking nerve transmission to temporarily reduce the contractions of the facial muscles that cause frown lines. It has been proven to be a safe and effective treatment for wrinkles, and botox injections are becoming increasingly popular.
Who can have Botox treatment?
Dr Deepak Kalia will decide if you can have cosmetic treatment with botox. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have any disorders that affect your nerves and muscles, if you are breastfeeding, or if you are planning to become pregnant soon.
After the injection
You should notice an improvement in your frown lines within 3 to 7 days, the effects of which can last up to 4 months. However, results may vary. After a period of time, your frown lines will begin to reappear as the effects of botox wear off.
How often can Botox injections be given?
You can receive botox injections every 4 months. With repeated treatments, thinning of the muscles occurs, which produces longer lasting results.

Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck can make a dramatic difference to your profile if you have saggy skin or a rounded stomach. The procedure can produce a beautifully flat stomach that will look great in skinny jeans or a swimsuit (even a bikini, once scars have healed).
The surgical procedure known as a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is one of the most requested cosmetic plastic surgeries in the world. This surgical procedure tightens abdominal muscles and removes excess fat and skin at the same time. Men and women with sagging, loose abdominal skin and fat can benefit greatly from this surgery.
Am I A Good Tummy Tuck Candidate?
If you have excess skin and fat in the abdominal area that diet and exercise has no effect on, then abdominoplasty could be a good option for you.
Had Children? Pregnancy is wonderful, but causes the skin and muscles of some women to stretch beyond the point the skin and muscles can return to their pre-pregnancy shape and location naturally, without surgical assistance.
Lost Weight? You have probably worked very hard to lose a great deal of weight, only to be left with excess, sagging skin in the abdominal area.
Lost Tone? People of a certain age who lose skin elasticity as a result of the normal aging process can also benefit from an abdominoplasty.
Abdominoplasty leaves a permanent scar across the bikini line area, but this will fade in time. The incision is made in a natural crease of the skin and will be hidden by your clothing.
Postponing a tummy tuck until your childbearing years have ended is a good idea.

Your Consultation
During your medical consultation, Dr Deepak Kalia will evaluate your health and expectations. Be sure to discuss your expectations frankly with Dr Deepak Kalia and be sure to say if you smoke or if you are taking any vitamins, or medication.
Dr Deepak Kalia will assess your medical and family history and request any pre-operative tests which may be necessary and discuss your expectations and explain what can realistically be achieved. Dr Kalia will explain the risks and benefits of this procedure and perform an examination.
Tummy Tuck Aftercare
After surgery is completed, you will have small tubes positioned either side of the incision. These remove excess fluid and will be removed before you are discharged.
Immediately following surgery, you will be fitted with a post-surgical garment. This is designed to apply the correct pressure to your stomach area which helps healing and final result. The garment prevents swelling and reduces bleeding. It is fastened with velcro for ease of use. You should expect to wear this garment for around 6 weeks, but Dr Deepak Kalia will give individual advice on this.
Recovery rates vary depending on the extent of the procedure as well as individual factors (e.g. smokers tend to recover more slowly). You can expect to feel sore and swollen for the first few weeks and should avoid strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks, although moderate activity aids circulation and therefore recovery.

Post-op appointments
Post-operative follow-up is of paramount importance. Each patient undergoing surgery will be given post operative appointments for wound management and suture removal. Post-operative instructions are vital and we consider it very important that you adhere to them. Failing to follow these guidelines and attend your appointments can adversely affect the outcome of surgery and put patient safety at risk.
Breast Augmentation
Why Have A Breast Augmentation?
Some reasons why women decide to have a Breast Augmentation are for personal reasons. They may feel their breast size is too small in comparison to their overall body shape. Other reasons include correction of a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy or weight loss. Another reason for a Breast enlargement is a reconstructive technique following previous breast surgery.
The Breast Augmentation Procedure
The procedure is relatively simple. Dr Deepak Kalia makes an incision in the natural fold beneath the breast, creates a cavity behind your natural breast tissue and then the breast implant is inserted. The wound is then closed and once healed, scarring is usually quite discrete.
The implant can be placed either above or below the muscle, as these images show. This is something that Dr Deepak Kalia would recommend on, after examination of your physiology.

There are a wide range of breast implants available:
Your Consultation
Dr Deepak Kalia will also assess your medical and family history and request any pre-operative tests which may be necessary and discuss your expectations and explain what can realistically be achieved. Dr Kalia will explain the risks and benefits of this procedure and perform a thorough physical examination of the breast area. Do be sure to say if you smoke or you are taking any vitamins or medication.
Dr Deepak Kalia will also discuss with you what sort of size and shape breasts you want to achieve. Some women may want a natural look, perhaps to restore the volume lost through breast-feeding. Other women may wish to enhance their natural curves and aim for a large cup size, perhaps DD or more. Be sure to discuss your requirements with Dr Deepak Kalia so that you can agree on the best implant for you.
Dr Deepak Kalia will give honest advice on the procedure – if appropriate, they would recommend if it was NOT in your best medical interest to proceed with surger

Aftercare Advice
You will normally stay in hospital for one day after a breast augmentation, then return to recover at home in evening.

You should expect to feel some discomfort afer the operation and will probably want to sleep quite a bit on the first day. The next day the pain should have eased considerably so that any further discomfort can be controlled by medication.
Recovery varies from person to person, but you should anticipate feeling sore and swollen for the early weeks, although most of the bruising and swelling usually dissipates within 3 weeks.
You are recommended to wear good post-surgical support bra after surgery. These are specially designed for breast surgery patients and have front fastenings, wide straps and soft materials that you will appreciate in your early recovery. Some women choose to purchase high street sports bras. These are cheaper, but generally fasten at the back and are less supportive. However, they are a great option after the first 2-4 weeks.
You should not wear under-wired bras until Dr Deepak Kalia has discharged you OR confirmed that your breasts are sufficiently healed.
You must avoid strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks - this includes lifting and vigorous sports activities.
The procedure will leave scars which will fade over time. The scar lines are beneath the breast and generally hidden by underwear.
liposuction
Why have Liposuction?
Once the fat cells are removed they do not return and are not replaced. So if you eat a healthy diet and maintain a healthy weight you should continue to keep your new body shape. Please note that Liposuction is not a weight loss or obesity treatment, but a reshaping procedure. It can be used in a variety of places - common choices are:

Liposuction Aftercare
After surgery, you will be fitted into an elastic garment in the operating theatre. It is important that you do not remove this garment for a period of 10 days apart from to wash and therefore most patients choose to purchase a 2nd garment as a spare.

You may feel some discomfort, but that can be controlled by medication. You should drink plenty of fluid to replace that lost during the procedure.
Recovery depends on the extend of the procedure, but you should expect to feel sore and swollen for the early weeks and there will be bruising immediately after the procedure.
Do avoid strenuous activity or vigorous sport for 4-6 weeks to allow your body to recover and heal.
Liposuction is a keyhole procedure and tends to leave very small scars. They will be red at first, but will fade with time and are generally hidden by underwear
Hair transplant
The hair transplant procedure involves first taking hair from the back of the head (called the donor area). The hair from this region is used as lifetime hairs are usually found here (even in very bald men). These hairs are not as sensitive to the male hormone that reduces the hair's growth.
The hairs from the donor area are then separated into individual hair follicles. These separated hairs are then transplanted in the balding region of the scalp. The separated hairs allow the surgeon to create a very natural looking hair line.
The result of the hair transplantation procedure produces growing, natural looking hair and hairline.
What Should I Expect After a Hair Transplant?
Initially, there will be some bleeding and you will need to wash your hair every day for a week.
For a few months, the hair will not grow in its new position; but after around 6 months normal hair growth resumes and then will need grooming and cutting as normal! The results are astounding - previously thin or even bare patches are restored with natural hair.
Do you Do Women/Female Hair Transplantation?
Yes, of course. The requirements are often different to male hair transplantation. Whereas men tend to lose hair in a specific pattern for women hair loss is often more of a generalised thinning. However, the techniques we use can be adapted and applied to female hair loss.
